What You Need To Know:
To accept credit cards payments you need a secure way to accept your customer's credit card and payment information. Using either Mals Ecommerce shopping cart for direct processing or PayPal's cart for automatic processing keeps your customers safe and reduces your risk.
Your Website Store
Your website comes with the tools to sell items to your visitors. Once you've chosen your payment processing system all you have to do is add the inventory and make your sales.
Setting Up Your Store
Before you can sell your products or services online you need to set up your web store. The links to your right will take you to the pages that manage how your website displays and processes the products and orders. The information below is a general overview of the steps you need to take.
1. Choose your Shopping Cart.
This website builder integrates automatically with either a PayPal shopping cart or with Mals-Ecommerce Shopping carts. You must choose one before selling products on your website. Which one is right for you?
2. Set up your Product Lines
You may only have one product to sell, but you need to assign that product a Product Line. For example, if you are selling books you might have categories for "fiction" and "non-fiction" or "sci-fi", "adventure", "mysteries".
3. Enter your products
From your Product Line Manager tell the website builder what it is that you have for sale. Use a good product name, a concise description and a quality photo for each product. Price the product appropriately.
4. Sales Details
Your shipping and other details are managed from your shopping cart. Both Paypal and Mals have excellent help files for these details. Please refer to them for set up instructions.
Adding Inventory
Simply fill in the form and tell your website what you have to sell, what otpions are available and what the price is. Good images are worth a thousand words of text description. If you are going to invest in your website I always recommend you invest it in your product photographs.
Making Sales
When you've made a sale you will be notified by your shopping cart. These notifications come via email. Make sure you add your payment processor to your Trusted Senders list or you may miss out on your sales.
