Adding images to your pages

Images tell the story before your words do.  You can upload several different image types to your website and insert them directly into any page.

How To Use:

Insert an imageAdd an Image - From your page editor, click where you want to place the image and then click the Insert Image icon.

Upload an Image - A popup window like the one above will open for you.  Use an image already in your list or click "Add New Image".  Simply follow the instructions as you go.

Left or Right? Decide if you want to have the image float left or right in the alignment drop down (easier to do it here rather than later!).

Text Description - Neither the visually impaired or search engines can know what a picture is about.  Use the Text Description to describe the picture.

Insert Image - Click the Insert Image link to add the picture to your page.

What You Need to Know About Images

Images must be .jpg or .gif format only! Optimum image width is 300 pixels or less. If your page includes a right sidebar, your image should be smaller. Resize or reformat image if necessary!

(Your Upload box includes a link to a free, online image resizer.  Don't be afraid to use it.)

  • Photos look best as .jpgs
  • Graphic and Line art work well as a .gif file.
  • Don't use .tiff or .bmp files.  They use too much disk space for no improved resolution!
