About Sitemaps and Your Website
Sitemaps are the easiest page on your website to manage. The entire sitemap page is auto-generated while you build your website.
Even the simplest website requires a sitemap for your visitors and for the search engines. One of the best ways for you to see if your website is up to snuff is to check your sitemap.
What You Need To Know:
The content on your Sitemap page is created when you add a page and make that page live. Your sitemap builder displays the page title and links it to the url you've created as page name. The page description is displayed directly below each link.
How To:
- Click on Edit page for the page title/description you want to fix.
- Click "Finishing Details"
- Click "Meta Tags"
- Fill in the form, click submit
- Go back to Your Pages and "Publish All" pages.
Even Better:
Your best bet is to create all these items correctly when you first add a page. It's always easier to do something right the first time than going back and fixing it afterwards.
Google Sitemap
Website owners should create a Google account and submit a specially formatted sitemap for Google to check on your website's progress. Your website builder automatically creates a page called google_sitemap.xml . You can submit this page to improve your SEO.
