About Documents

Documents are external files that are saved on your website.  Most often you'll use the documents Cool Tools to post Word Documents and PDF files for your visitor to download.  Typical examples include patient forms, pdf newsletters, technical manuals, team schedules and so on. 

Your Website Builder gives you two options for uploading these files:

Documents By Page

Add documents to a page

If you have documents that should be available for download from a specific page this is the tool for you.  Click on the Page Documents button at the top of the Edit page, fill in the form and publish the page.  Any documents that are assigned a page will be displayed and linked from that page only. Page documents are displayed across the top of a page just below your page header and will look something like :Downloads available are located at the top of a page

How To Use:

  1. Go to the Edit page that you want to add a document for download
  2. Click "Page Documents" button from top of that page. 
  3. Fill in the Form
  4. Click "ADD".  You'll then be directed to upload your document.

Don't forget - your page isn't live until it's published.

Documents Page

Documents are displayed in a list with title and descriptionA documents page is used more often when you have a large variety of to be shared with your visitors.  The list of documents will be the primary content on that page.

To make your documents page visitor friendly, make sure you give each file a good title and description.  It is very helpful to tell a visitor the file type for each document (.doc, .pdf, etc.).  Large documents should include a file size so your visitor knows they'll have to wait for the download to complete.

How To Use:

  1. Choose "Documents" from the list of Your Pages and click the Edit Button.
  2. Click "Cool Tools" button from top of that page. 
  3. Click "Add Document"  
  4. Fill in the Form
  5. Click "ADD".  You'll then be directed to upload your document.
